2016 Pratt Vineyard, Vine Hill Road Chardonnay
This Chardonnay has all the exuberance of the Russian River appellation - powerful and seductive in texture with the right amount of energy from the acidity. I love the plus weight of the wine, and the mouthcoating elements of poached pear and marzipan that lead to layered notes of tangerine, creme brulee and vanilla bean, which linger on the lengthy, seductive finish.
Winemaking:
- Hand harvested and sorted
- 100% native fermentation
- Aged 11 months in French Oak, 33% new, Followed by 6 months aging in stainless steel
- Bottled 100% unfined and unfiltered March 2018
Clones: Mt. Eden, Robert Young, and Dijon 96
Production: 268 cases
